5C Emergency Types With Closers To Suit Taper & Threaded Spindles

• Regular-depth rated sizes – 2”, 3”, 4”, 5”, 6” & 7” O/D’s.
• Regular-depth rated sizes are actually 3/8” larger on diameter than the rated diameter so the full rated capacity bore can be easily machined to the maximum depth of 0.5”.
• Extra-depth rated sizes – 2”, 3”, 4”, 5” & 6” O/D’s.
• Extra-depth rated sizes are actually 3/4” larger on diameter than the rated diameter so the full rated capacity bore can be easily machined to the maximum depth of 1 1/4”.
• Supplied with pin holes & pins which are located outside of the maximum rated capacity of the step chuck.

Please Note:-

•  A regular or extra-depth closer is required for each rated size.
• Hardinge emergency step chucks are not designed to be heat treated by the customer.
• Step chucks with small closing angles are available for use with stationary (non-rotating) Workholding devices only.  Closers are required for all rotating step chuck applications.
• 5C taper and threaded nose closers are made from cast iron.  All other Hardinge closers are made from steel.

Longer Shank Emergency Step Chucks For Use On A2-5 5C Spindles & A2-4 5C Spindles

• For use on Hardinge Conquest GT, CHNC-5C and HXL A2-5  5C lathes.
• Available with 2”, 3”, 4”, 5” & 6” rated sizes in regular-depth and extra-depth versions.

• 16C emergency regular-depth & extra-depth step chucks & 16C A2-5 closers in 2”, 3”, 4”, 5” & 6” rated sizes.

• 20C emergency extra-depth step chucks & A2-6 closers in 3”, 4” & 6” rated sizes.

• 25C extra-depth step chucks & A2-6 (Quest) & A2-8 closers in 4”, 6” & 8” rated sizes.
  Please Note:- On 25C extra-depth step chucks the full rated capacity bore can be machined to an increased maximum depth of 1 3/4”.

• 5C, 16C & 20C emergency dead-length step chucks for use in emergency step chuck assemblies.

• Hardened & ground step chucks are available upon request.

• 3C & 4C emergency step chucks with cast iron closers to suit taper & threaded spindles.
